I’ve been struggling with my weight off and on since 2006, going up and down. After gaining back a bunch of weight, I’ve decided to finally get to a vibrant, healthy weight! I’m happily MARRIED and have 3 kids and live in NE Ohio. I started losing weight in January 2012. I joined My Fitness Pal in June 2012. I became an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor September 2013 and an ACE certified Personal Trainer November 2013! Re-certifying sometime in 2022…depends on how things are going with impacts from COVID-19.

2020 was a really, really tough year. Lockdown due to Covid caused our gym to shut down, but I can’t really blame that because I can always exercise at home. I also did A LOT of stress eating in addition to slacking off on exercise. In short, I gained a grip of weight back and am basically starting over.

Why I Want to Get in Shape

I want to get in shape to avoid obesity-related health problems and disorders. Many health issues run in my family such as heart disease and diabetes, and I want to avoid triggering these things. My weight-loss journey has been a trip! Up and down. Health crises is what prompted me to lose weight.

Highest weight January 1st 2012: 238 pounds
Starting weight MFP June 12th 2012: 214 pounds
Lowest weight as of August 13th 2013: 149 pounds
GAINED BACK weight off and on but mostly during 2020
Lowest weight in 2020 – March 11th 2020: 172 pounds
Highest weight in 2021 – May 11th 2021: 237 pounds
Last 2021 weigh-in October 2021: 207.7
Last 2022 weigh-in January 2022: 179.3 pounds

My Inspirations:

Food & Exercise Plan:

I log all of my food my food on Myfitnesspal and my exercise via my Garmin watch which shows on the Garmin website. Both diaries are public and I promise you, what you see is what I’ve been doing. I don’t have any ‘secrets’ to weight loss. Currently my diet is pescatarian, while I eat mostly vegetarian (if you’ve known me or followed me for a while then you know I was a vegetarian for 24 years, ages 14-38), and I’m doing a combo of OMAD (one big meal a day) and IF (intermittent fasting).
